CELLvo™ Human Chondrocytes (<40y)
>1,000,000 cryopreserved cells (Available at Passage 0 or Passage 1)
For Research Use Only- Not for Diagnostic or Therapeutic Use
Description: Human Articular Chondrocytes (HC-a) are mature cells responsible for elaborating and maintaining cartilage matrices in vivo. These cells can be difficult to isolate and expand but have huge potential in translational research. CELLvo™ Chondrocytes are isolated from cadaveric articular cartilage of otherwise healthy donors. When grown on the CELLvo™ ChondroMatrix, CELLvo™ HCAs behave more naturally, allowing researchers greater control of their study.
CELLvo™ HC-a (P0) have never been cultured. As with any freshly isolated cells, it may take a longer period of time for cells to attach compared to previously passaged cells. It is not unusual for viable cells to be floating after several days in culture. See note regarding cell viability. For additional support please contact info@stembiosys.com.
CELLvo™ HC-a (P1) have been isolated and expanded on CELLvo™ ChondroMatrix. Chondrocytes are cryopreserved in CryoStor® solution. We recommend a full media change on Day 2 to remove cryopreservative. To obtain an accurate measure of cell viability following cryopreservation, assessment should be performed 24 hours post-thaw.
We do not recommend vortexing or centrifuging cells immediately after thawing. In addition to recovery loss, centrifugation or vortexing will stress cells and can lead to apoptosis. These effects can be cell type specific. If your application requires counting or centrifuging cells immediately post-thaw, please contact us for additional technical support.
