Description of Selected Custom Projects

 

StemBioSys is pleased to offer our customers custom products and research services.  Whether you are looking for specific cell characteristics, matrix coating on your specialized plate or having us complete a research project for you, we are here to help.    Here is a selection of custom projects we have done for our customers.

Specific Age and Disease Characteristics for Chondrocytes:  A global biopharma company was studying chondrocytes of elderly individuals with and without a particular disease state.  We obtained cartilage from donors who met the customer’s specific disease and age requirements.   The cells were isolated from the cartilage and processed for use by the customer’s researchers.

 

Tagged Endothelial Cells:  For a nationally recognized research organization, we added a tagging agent that will allow the researcher to track how the cells are incorporated into the final model created by the endothelial cells.

 

Osteocytes: For a private research institution, we isolated and expanded osteocytes from multiple donors.  

 

Elderly Bone Marrow Matrix: StemBioSys’ standard matrices are made from the cells of young donors.  For a university researcher exploring the effects of aging, we prepared several batches of our bone marrow matrix from the cells of elderly donors (over 70 years old).

 

Cell viability Study:  A company was interested in confirming the viability of cells when isolated from tissue one to three days after tissue extraction from the donor. StemBioSys conducted the study to assess the cell viability.

 

Custom Plate Formats:  Many of our customers require plate formats that we do not routinely stock. For these customers we offer a custom plate service.  We will grow any of our matrices on a broad range of plates to support our customer’s research on specific pieces of equipment, etc.
